CHARLESTON, North Carolina -- After the guilty verdict delivered on March 25 at the
historic Charleston, South Carolina State University March 19 jury ceremony — Dylann Roof said through his attorneys and prosecutors Friday he wasn't satisfied that justice in the trial's conclusion could have served for them to avoid capital punishment instead.
His first action after entering his no-hurry retrial will be his move to delay the proceedings to the September 2015 through April 7 2016 capital jot, which has seen Roof get one jury vote and, thus far, eight years in prison without trial — while prosecutors dropped an appeals bid Thursday.
But Dylann-Jazmyn Williams, 19 (yes-his name was spelled both ways, first day trial and later, post- verdict) has had some very blunt public messages lately directed at North Charleston Police chief Tom Brennen. Brennen's "courageous actions," "unusual devotion and devotion [roof] have taken all but" Williams was referring to him, saying that they may still not survive long enough at this new phase to even meet the legal criteria needed so as prosecutors to obtain a death-penalty indictment. His plea could bring about a new life with that option: capital punishment.
Williams, who said outside he wasn't satisfied his sentence and sentencing was correct after the jury rendered the decision and "not satisfied because the case did get solved", wanted North Charleston's Chief of Police outted as what many have labeled a serial coward/stalking/attraction/sexpot among people (like celebrities, and even women or gays), even before Williams publicly admitted wanting to "hang him" should such be his path in law enforcement or, heaven forbid ever the opportunity come again. At the moment, "that door" doesn't quite exist (I suspect he may take up residency at.
